Havelock North is an ideal base from which to enjoy the Region's top golf courses. Tee bookings can be arranged directly with the golf courses or the staff at the Havelock North Motor Lodge will be happy to arrange them on your behalf. If you need some pointers on where to play, Shaun is a keen golfer and has played all of the local courses so will be happy to assist. Some of the key golf courses in the region, include:
Cape Kidnappers Golf Club - Par 71 golf course measuring 7,119 yards (6,510 meters) and with 5 tee positions for every hole it offers a suitable challenge for golfers of all skill levels.
Hastings Golf Club (Bridge Pa)
Consistently rated within the top club courses in New Zealand, with impeccable championship course conditions, set amid picturesque surroundings. The course also boasts an excellent restaurant/cafe with quality clubhouse facilities.
SpecialTee Golf also provides an excellent range of onsite golfing services and equipment led by the resident professional, Brett Allan. The onsite driving range will enable you to warm up in style ahead of your round.
Havelock North Motor Lodge also has an electric golf cart available to guests playing at the Hastings Golf Club. Please ask at the Motel Reception to arrange.
Napier Golf Club
A picturesque course situated between Napier and Hastings. Narrow, tree-lined fairways leading to bunker-protected greens ensure a suitable challenge.
HAWKES BAY GOLF CLUB
The youngest of the four major golf courses in the Bay and formerly the Flaxmere Golf Club. The course provides a picturesque challenge with long fairways leading to large greens.
Maraenui Golf Club
A course of 6,125 metres set in a flat tree-lined setting at the southern end of Napier and just off State Highway 2. Although flat and easy to walk, the course offers tightly sculptured tree lined fairways with creative greens complexes and bunkering for all levels to enjoy.
Karamu Golf Club
The course is based on a 9-hole layout with dual tee positions. Ideal for the casual golfer.
Puketitiri Golf Club
A 9-hole country course that is always open, situated about 50 km from Napier on the Puketitiri Road.
